Everett | Four Months

Age: 4 months [and 3 days]!

Weight: I waited for his 4 month well visit before posting so I would have an official weight (even though I didn't think his 2 month weight was so official).  The doctors office says he is coming in at a whopping 17lbs 4oz.  The home scale says: this is most likely true.

Likes: big sissy, ceiling fans, being swaddled for bedtime, chewing on his hand

Dislikes: cooperating for Daddy, being put down, teething toys, Hank barking

Milestones & Big Moments: The little stinker celebrated his first Halloweenie :)

...and somehow this is the best picture we got #secondkidproblems
Looking forward to: Everett's first Thanksgiving :)  We clearly have a lot to be thankful for this year!

His little personality is starting to shine through.  He is, generally, a happy baby, but still quite serious. He loves being held.  He goes to sleep much easier for me than for B and he is a total mama's boy (cute now, probably not so cute in his later years).  We have started cereal and he eats from a spoon like a champ for Ms. Cheryl.  We will be starting other solids probably in the next couple weeks (although, he'll definitely get a taste or two of mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving!).

He is a big boy and very sturdy :)  He is very strong and his legs are so dang strong.  He sits up well and has really developed a love of his froggy chair and his bouncer so he can sit up and look around.  I have a feeling he will be an un-supported sitter soon. He has great head control and I generally carry him on my hip since he sits well.  I also have this sneaking suspicion that he will be an early walker given how strong he can kick. Who knows - I could be wrong but that's my current mama's intuition.

Everett finally rolled over. I say finally because somehow the little miss accomplished this before 3 months. I know, I know, "comparison is the thief of joy" and they are different kids and different genders and they will reach milestones at different times. Yea, yea, I know.  Even with that knowledge, I can't help but compare them. It's so fun. I love looking back on Natalie's milestones and talking to her about them. She is Everett's biggest cheerleader when doing things and I love being able to include her in that extra way.  It clearly makes her feel so special that we remember when and how she did things as a baby.

I love Nat and Rhett together. They love each other so fiercely and Nat makes him smile like no one else can.  He looks for her as soon as he hears her voice and he is constantly fixated on her.  It's the sweetest.  I have a feeling they are going to cause some serious trouble together in the coming years so I'll cherish this time that he is still not mobile :)
