Age: One Month. It is so hard to believe that Everett has been with us an entire month.
Weight: We have surpassed his birth weight and then some. According to the bathroom scale, Everett is tipping the scale at 10.5lbs. He is comfortably in his 3 month clothes and some of his 3-6 month stuff. Little man LOVES to eat :) He is averaging still 2oz per feeding but then almost daily we're running into spurts of 2oz every hour for 3 hours.
Likes: Naps in the rock n play on the deck. Big sister's struggle snuggle. The first 4 minutes of bath time. Car rides. The binxy baby shopping cart hammock.
Dislikes: Wet diapers. The last 4 minutes of bath time. Car rides.
Milestones & Big Moments: Everett has had two photo sessions already. I am loving our newborn pictures from Liz Hough and I am really looking forward to seeing our lifestyle pictures from Monique! He also got to meet some of my favorite people on the planet: (some of) our college friends. This month has really just been about settling in and finding a rhythm which is proving to be a little more difficult than the first time around.
Looking forward to: (and simultaneously dreading) his first road trip! We are going to head to Jersey soon so Everett can meet his great grandparents and my college roomies and their new babes. We have a really fun few days planned but I am anxious for the drive (because he does really GREAT in the car until he doesn't and when he doesn't, oh sweet Jesus he doesn't).

This has been such a weird month. I expected it would take time to fall into a routine but this has been quite a transition learning a new routine and finding our new norm. It doesn't help that a routine is fairly hard to come by since B has been off for summer break and Cheryl was closed for 2 weeks so we're seriously winging it. Most days I am not entirely sure what day of the week it is so clearly routine is a struggle. Once school starts back up and B is back at work and Natalie is going to Cheryl's more frequently,
I feel like I haven't taken my recovery as seriously this time around. With Natalie, we were very focused on me taking it easy and transitioning into parenthood. This time around, I was out at Toys r Us with a 4 day old and then at Target (by myself with two under four for the first time) two days later. That whole "sleep when the baby sleeps" thing is out the window. Natalie savors those stretches of time when Everett is sleeping so she has my undivided attention. Regardless of the tough transition, Everett fits into this little shit show so seamlessly and I am so excited to see what this next month has in store for us :)
