Shop Share: Audrey's Bear

When I think back to my pregnancy with Natalie, I wish I had really looked for monogrammed and personalized blankets and things. Now that we are expecting #2, I wanted to get him a personalized blanket (#givemeallthemonograms) but the guilt that I didn't do it for Natalie was eating me alive. I stumbled upon Audrey's Bear completely by chance when searching for personalized blankets on Etsy one day and I fell in love. These blankets are perfect for a baby while also being totally acceptable for a toddler! Buh-bye Mom guilt! Added bonus, Rachel has a swaddle 4 swaddle program where for every swaddle purchased, a swaddle is donated to a baby in the NICU. Talk about making this mama heart melt, especially since my blankets arrived so close to viability week.

I ordered blankets for both kiddos as soon as we were set on a name for baby brother. I decided it would be a fun big sister/little brother gift for the hospital. Within a few hours of placing my order, I got a proof for both blankets and was all heart eyes.  It was totally surreal to see his name in print.  When the blankets arrived, I was even more smitten than I had been originally and I couldn't wait to give Natalie her blanket. (I am admittedly terrible about surprises and waiting to give gifts.) We even used the blankets to tell our parents the name we had chosen for baby brother :)

Bonus: Audrey's Bear sent me the swaddles so that I can bring them to the hospital where I will have the baby so that I can personally deliver them to the NICU :) I am so so excited to be part of the process of giving back. It definitely helps me to feel even more grateful for my, so far, healthy pregnancy and my previous healthy, full term delivery. Don't worry - I have big plans for a post all about that when everything is said and done :)

So today on the blog, I want to introduce a new favorite of mine: Audrey's Bear :)

Tell us a little about yourself and your shop.  How did you come up with the name of your shop? And how did you get started?
I decided to turn my passion for making things into a hobby and that hobby has grown into a business that my family and I love and that we hope you will love too. My passion comes from my belief in the miracle of life. I created Audrey's Bear to help you celebrate and treasure the miracle of life, and to help you make those special, once-in-a-lifetime moments even more special and unique. I started this business when I found out I was having a second girl, I knew she would get all her big sisters old things and I wanted her to have something of her own so I set out to design a blanket with her name just for her! The name followed soon after when I had a short time to come up with a name and I looekd down at my first born, Audrey, playing with our dog, Bear. And with that the name was born, AudreysBear.

What do you make in your shop and how can we find you?

You can find us at www.audreysbear.com We make personalized items for babies such as swaddle blankets, fitted sheets and multi use covers.

Baby brother's blanket and hat for the hospital :)

What is your favorite piece in your shop?
My favorite piece is the swaddle blankets. I don't have a favorite design because I love so many of them but I love the blankets the most because that is where we started.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
My inspiration came from my daughters and has branches out to the 21 babies from the AudreysBear family (our employees children). Not only are our children our inspiration but I have had a niece and two nephews spend time in the NICU and that is where the inspiration comes from for the Swaddle4Swaddle program. I had a sweet mom reach out to me when her baby was in the NICU and I was just getting started and she was asking for a discount. I wanted to give her the blanket for free but we were in Alaska at the time and I was just getting started and couldn't afford to give to her for free. After that, we started to grow and grow and I knew from then on that I wanted to give back and help those who have little ones in the NICU.

Where do you see your shop in the future? What are your aspirations for it?
In the future, we hope to continue to grown and own our own building where employees who have little children can bring them to work with them. We hope to continue to employee and empower stay at home moms.
