Friday when Nat and I got home, B's dad was already at the house. Nat, who had been dead tired in my arms just moments earlier, popped up and was SO excited to see her Fargey :) It was absolutely adorable. Friday night things were pretty low key since B and I noticed Nat was coming down with a cold. Which was a total bummer because we had big plans for a girls' day out on Saturday which we had to postpone.
Saturday morning we head to Lowe's to get the last of the supplies for Nat's big sister room remodel. After Nat and I picked out chair railing and pink spray paint (not required for the project but totally necessary to have), she and I head to the motherland (Target) for some essentials: St. Paddy's day decor, dinner groceries and a new Barbie (her first!).
Nat and I spent the day playing Barbies, watching Trolls, playing Trolls and fighting off naps while B and Gary put her room together. I shared probably a dozen pictures of this process on my Instagram stories but I couldn't help it. I am in love with this project and how it all came together so perfectly.
Saturday night we made Ms. Shawn's baked ziti for dinner - a recipe I will be sharing later this week because, seriously, everyone needs to try this ziti. It is crazy easy to make and super delicious. Child friendly, budget friendly and freezer friendly. What's not to love?!
Sunday we put the finishing touches on the big sister room remodel and, I have to say, it is absolutely perfect. It is the ultimate girly room and given that she is the only little girl we're going to have, we are embracing the pink and girly and frilly and there is a three year old who could not be more thrilled about that.
We spent the rest of Sunday eating chocolate coins, putting on chapstick, watching trolls, playing outside, riding on the tractor and having dance parties. It was absolutely gorgeous outside (high 60s and sunny) so we opened the windows and aired out the house in FEBRUARY. B smoked some ribs that smelled heavenly. Nat had the neighborhood girls over to play. It made me so excited for spring and summer and permanent nice weather.
Seriously - this weekend was a dream.
