Currently | January 2016

Those "Currently" posts that some bloggers do are some of my favorite posts and I don't know why I have never opted to do them as well. Elizabeth posted one today and it has inspired me to do one of my own and start making this a more regular thing on the blog.  New year, new me - right?

Dreaming about | Warmer weather. After four days of being snowed in with my little family I was losing my mind and anxious to get back to work. I don't mind the snow, I would have been thrilled with 12 inches of it but 30+ inches of snow is a bit excessive. I am beyond ready for the sun and warmer weather... I would settle for temps in the 40s at this point.

Drinking | More Starbucks dirty chai that I am comfortable admitting.  I am completely addicted.

Eating | Too many dang baked goods. All that snow made it impossible to get out so Natalie and I did quite a bit of baking. We made corn bread, cinnamon streusel muffins, brownies and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Pretty soon the hips really won't be lying.

Listening to | Adele. Still. On repeat. I cannot get enough of the new album.  Plus Natalie loves it and always asks to hear her song, Send My Love (to Your New Lover). Insert emoji of monkey covering it's eyes here. In her defense, it is quite catchy.

Looking forward to | A girls' weekend with my sister next weekend. We aren't actually going anywhere, just a little staycation, but it will be nice to have some time to hang out with her, drink more wine than we should and laugh until it's way past my bedtime. Life has been so busy that in the last few months we haven't gotten to spend a ton of time together but we have decided that we're going to be better about it this year.

Loving | This sassy little phase that Natalie is going through. That girl has me laughing so hard I cry lately. The other day she locked herself in the bathroom and thought it was hilarious. As I was trying to get the door unlocked she knocked on it and asked if I wanted to build a snowman. Girlfriend has been watching a lot a Frozen lately.

Planning | A visit to see my parents. Not officially. Just playing with the idea of trying to get down to see them in a few months. Every year around this time of year I start thinking about visiting them. Florida is much warmer than Maryland!  Plus, it's hard not seeing them as much as I would like. They haven't seen Natalie since August and I know that's hard for my mama. I am going to see if I can convince them to buy Nat's plane ticket and I buy mine :) Here's to hoping that works in my favor! Who knows, maybe I could even convince the mister to come too!

Reading | Everything Mindy Kaling has ever written. I just finished Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? and I plan to get Why Not Me? in the next couple weeks. Obviously I am reading some super deep stuff but she is absolutely hilarious and I love her. Her honesty is super refreshing and laughing makes this whole winter thing suck less. If I could hope for Natalie to have one famous role model in life, it would be Mindy Kaling.
“Teenage girls, please don’t worry about being super popular in high school, or being the best actress in high school, or the best athlete. Not only do people not care about any of that the second you graduate, but when you get older, if you reference your successes in high school too much, it actually makes you look kind of pitiful, like some babbling old Tennessee Williams character with nothing else going on in her current life. What I’ve noticed is that almost no one who was a big star in high school is also big star later in life. For us overlooked kids, it’s so wonderfully fair.”  -Mindy Kaling, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
Seriously. How can you NOT love her?!

Waiting | On some potentially life changing news. No, this is not even remotely close to suggesting a pregnancy announcement. Just cross your fingers for me and hopefully I'll have some exciting (for me) news to share in the next couple weeks :)

Wearing | All the leggings. If I have to be cold, I want to be comfortable.

I have also been living in my new shirt from the Blue Envelope and my MAMA hoodie. The white print hoodies are on sale so I seriously suggest checking them out!

Watching | The Bachelor. Although, thanks to the snow storm, we didn't have tv service on Monday so I will need to get caught up at some point this week. I had never watched the Bachelor before and I was seriously missing out. What a train wreck.  I am also really into Grey's Anatomy re-runs right now. Something about bad weather just makes it feel so right.

Wishing | We had hit the powerball the other week. I had big plans for those winnings :) I found quite a few dream homes that I would love to decorate to look like I lived in a Pottery Barn catalog. Next time, right?

Be sure to check back tomorrow for this month's Guys Behind the Blog post to find out what B is currently up to :)
