1. Brandon is officially done with grad school! Natalie and I are so incredibly proud of him. Before this final week he had a 92 in one class and a 98 in the other so even if he failed this weeks assignments (which we know he did not), he would still pass those classes. I am so happy for him. It will be nice to really be able to settle into a nightly routine that does not include school work and stress :)
2. Cinco de Mayo. This year Cinco de Mayo fell on Taco Tuesday. How fitting. Tacos + Margs = one happy mama. Brandon made my favorite: shrimp tacos. Yum.
3. Hand-me-downs. On Tuesday, my friend/co-worker Nydra gave me a bin of clothes that her daughter had outgrown. Noelle is Natalie's fashion icon so we are seriously excited about this! I went through the bin and sorted things by size and I am super excited about these gems. There are a couple really adorable rompers that are 3t but I am going to see if they fit Nat this summer! [Crossing my fingers that they do!] Also it turns out, I will not have to buy a single pair of jeans this fall/winter! There were 3-6 pairs of jeans in absolutely perfect condition. Not surprising given how OCD Nydra is :) I am one lucky mama to have such thoughtful friends!
4. Oil change Groupon. While not very exciting, it does make me feel very proactive. Brandon has been on me a lot lately about getting my oil changed. I hate doing it so I went on groupon to see what I could find. I spent $25 and it will cover the oil change + a tire rotation (which apparently I need), battery check and a brake inspection (a $106 total value). Perhaps this grown-up thing isn't too bad, after-all. Now I just need to actually take my car to the place... ugh.
This weekend we are going to Frederick's Celtic Festival to celebrate Brandon being done with grad school and we're looking forward to the puppy parade, sheep herding demonstrations, whiskey tastings and food trucks! Sunday I am not sure what the mister and miss have planned for Mother's Day, but I am sure it will be perfect :)
Happy Friday, y'all!
