18 Months :)

I haven't done one of these in awhile, but given how much she has grown and changed in the last six months, I thought it might be fun :)

Age: 18 (and a half) Months. One and a half years. Where has the time gone?!

Weight: Natalie had her 18 month well visit on the 22nd.  I knew that Nat was big for her age but I had no idea how big!  The little miss is weighing in at 31 lbs 14 oz and she stands 35.5 inches tall.  That puts her in the 99th percentile for weight and off the charts in height!

It's funny - my parents went shopping for some summer clothes for Nat and asked what size she wore.  I said her 2T shorts seemed a bit snug so they got her 3T clothes. When I looked at the tag, I was floored to see the recommended sizing. The weight for 3T: 31-34lbs.  My little 18 month old chunker is basically wearing 3T already. Heaven help us.

Favorite Foods: Nat is pretty peculiar when it comes to food.  When she is hungry, this little girl loves to eat and she will devour an entire tomato in one sitting.  However, there are days that she won't eat much more than a piece of bread and an apple sauce.  I try to pick my battles when it comes to mealtime so I go with the flow. Because of her picky habits, we still have her drinking whole milk (something I don't plan on changing anytime soon) and, if she is being particularly difficult, we sneak in fruits and veggies with V8 fruit fusion. Thank goodness for that.

Her top 10 foods (in no particular order) are probably goldfish, cheese, pickles, Reese's cereal, apple sauce, french fries, tomatoes, corn, broccoli and dry toast.

Milestones: She is amazing. She is so strong and figuring out how to use that strength every day! She is running and climbing. She is so funny and has started to play pretend.  If you give her a fake apple, she will take a big bite and say "yummm".

Words & PhrasesShe is talking up a storm.  Every day I feel like she picks up a few more words.  While this is not all of the things she can say, these are the things we hear on a daily basis: Dada. Mama. Hank. Gemma. Come. Thank you. Bless you. Paci. Duck. Quack. Puppy. Bow wow. Kitty cat. Giraffe. Camel. Monkey. Lion. Roar. Moo. No.  Yes. Elephant (sounds more like Ellap). Color. Fish. Baby. What is that? You ok?  Good doggy.

She tries to sing Baa Baa Black Sheep and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  She can count to three and will repeat the numbers up to 10.  She loves to "read" her favorite stories to us and even mimics our enthusiasm at certain points in the book.  And every now and then, I get an "I love you".  So far, I am the only one who has gotten it and, I have to say, I treasure that since she says Dada far more than Mama. And if you ask her who her favorite person is she says Dada (or occasionally Gemma).

Tuesday morning when I went in to get her up, she gave me a very confused look and said "What? Dada?" Sorry pal, you're stuck with me today.

Favorite toys: We have been playing outside more and more since we have the big yard now :)  My parents saved my play hour and Brandon put it together over the weekend.  It is so sweet to see her playing with it.  When we don't have the energy to chase her around the yard but want the fresh air, we're especially thankful for our deck and her Easter gift from her Nanny and Farge. She loves her water table. It buys us about an hour of play time each time we play with it.

As far as inside toys go, she absolutely loves her books and puzzles.  Her Godmother Danielle got her a Melissa and Doug ballerina puzzle and she absolutely adores it.  It is the first toy she plays with every day.  She has also taken to her Friends of Suzy doll and carries her everywhere or pushes her around in her grocery cart.  Brandon and I agree that we need to get her a couple more of them.  They are soft, adorable and are a great compromise on the doll side of things since dolls generally creep me out.  They even have a boy doll that reminds me of Brandon :)  She loves her fruits and veggies toys and we have been working on recognizing the real versions at the grocery store.

Looking forward to: We are really looking forward to summer with our miss.  Between the big backyard and the park around the corner, her water table and little pool, I think it will be a fun summer with lots of outside play involved.  We are also looking forward to having a little party with all the little humans in the near future.  It will be fun to get all the kiddos together!
