two year transferversary

Today is a very special day for Brandon and me.  It's an anniversary of sorts celebrated by those in the infertility world.  On this day two years ago, one perfect little embryo was transferred.  It was the last step in a big journey that lead to a new chapter in our lives: parenthood.

I remember the drive to Shady Grove well. I remember being so anxious. I remember finding so much comfort in seeing my friend Teran working at the front desk when Brandon and I got off the elevator. I remember feeling comforted by Sabrina's smiling face when she came out to get us to take us back to the transfer area. I remember feeling so at ease when Karen and Dr. O'Brien came into the room to get the show started.  I am lucky to work with such incredible people who make these miracles happen.  And while I know that they strive to be as wonderful to all of our patients as they were to me, they really made me feel like I was a VIP. And I know to them, I am, and they absolutely are to me. I will forever hold the people who made my dream of parenthood possible in the highest regard.

It's crazy to see how much she has grown and changed over the course of two years.  On this day, I cannot help but stare at her in wonder and awe.  To have seen her as just a few hundred cells to now this sassy, spunky little girl - it is truly incredible. It makes me so emotional.  Life is really the most amazing thing and it should be cherished. That little girl is an absolute gift from God and I am so lucky to have her. Brandon and I are so blessed to be her parents.  On this day especially, I can't help but say thank you Shady Grove Fertility, for making our dreams come true.

Natalie's first transferversary :)
