a wonderfully weird weekend

This weekend played out much differently than most weekends do for us.  Brandon has been wanting to get Natalie up to New Jersey to meet his grandfather and life has been so crazy that we hadn't had much of a chance.  We were supposed to go last weekend, but the weather made that a little complicated, so we rescheduled our visit for this weekend.  But then my older sister called and said she needed someone to watch Tim.  Given how much Michelle has been helping out with Natalie when daycare is closed, I jumped at the chance to be able to help her out - completely forgetting about our plans.  I talked to Brandon and he said not to worry about a thing, he and Natalie would still go to Jersey and I would be able to watch Tim.  We debated even taking Tim with us to New Jersey, but opted against it because two small humans in the car for that long might not so much fun.

I was excited to spend some time with Tim.  He has grown-up and changed so much in the year since Michelle has had custody of him.  I am so proud of how smart, compassionate and thoughtful he is and I love having the opportunity to be a part of his life.  After our breakfast date together, we watched movies and colored pictures and then I was just crazy enough to take him to Chuck E Cheese for lunch.  We had so much fun together :)

just like Uncle Brandon :)
Natalie had a wonderful visit in New Jersey :) She got to spend time with her Nanny and Farge and her Great Grandma and Great Grandpa.  I love that she has two sets of grandparents and also the really cool fact that she has two generations of grandparents on her father's side.  She is very blessed in that regard.

Brandon and Natalie got home around the same time that Tim and I got home from Chuck E Cheese.  I was excited that the two little stinkers would get some time to play together.  It just melts my heart seeing the friendship that they are developing :)  Between playing with her grandparents and great-grandparents and then coming home to play with her cousin, Natalie was one pooped little girl.  And even exhausted, she was still just as sweet as can be.

While a very different weekend than we're used to in the Wilkinson home, I think it ended up being a very special weekend for all of us :)
