|OH MY GOD... IS THAT A BABY BUMP?!?|
How far along: 12 weeks 2 days
Baby is the size of: a plum
Total weight gain/loss: hmm still not really sure, but I have an OB appt on Monday where I have no doubt they will weigh me and shock me back to reality.
Symptoms: I am still having crazy dreams (the other night my dream was that I had given birth but I was home and the baby wasn't and people were asking me about the baby "how big is she?" "what time did you deliver?" "what did you name her?" and I did not have a single answer to any of those questions, like I just did not know, and then I had to go to the hospital and pick up the baby and I pulled the blanket back as to not have her face covered and my baby was black, and not only was she black, but she was the spitting image of my co-worker Rachel. Like the baby had her new hair style and everything. Talk about weird.) and I am having weird food issues. I can tell just by looking at a menu if I think that item will make me nauseous or not.
Food Cravings: No real cravings - mostly aversions to things.
What I miss: drinking at weddings. Over the weekend we went to my friend Beth's wedding (CONGRATS BETH & AARON) and everyone at my table had a nice happy buzz and glow, but not me! I had no idea I would miss the hooch so much...
What I am looking forward to: I think Monday's appointment should be fun and it will be nice to get a little bit more information about what I should be expecting and what's to come.
Gender Predictions: After my dream of the baby being a girl - I just don't know! We have our anatomy screening in 7 weeks, but rumor has it one of the sonographers at work can tell as early as 15 weeks. I might have to look into this :)
Maternity Clothes: I have been rocking the maxi dresses all week, but I am coming close to having to wear some maternity items soon. And by maternity items, I mean I am finally going to break down and buy a bella band so that my pants fit and I can wear the things I want to wear!
Wedding Rings: Still on and still loose! Thank God for Brandon keeping me on a low sodium diet. I want to have my rings on as long as possible!
Movement: Nothing yet, but I don't think I will feel anything until week 20 or so.
Best Moment of the Last Week: I have had quite a few of those. Seeing one of my best friends from high school walk down the aisle and marry her prince charming was pretty wonderful :) Today we celebrated my nurse/coworker/friend Jordan's birthday and so there were tons of sweets and good snacks and that was awesome and it's always fun to celebrate someone who has played such a big part in helping your own personal dreams come true. And you know, seeing little Dub today was kind of wonderful/awesome too.
I must say this: Dr. Wayne Kramer from Perinatal Associates of Maryland is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. If you need a maternal fetal medicine physician in the MoCo area, he is the BEST! From the minute he walked in the room, I was comfortable and I felt like he had been my doctor forever. Even my picky Brandon was a huge fan of him. He is just a really wonderful doctor and has an absolutely comforting and reassuring bedside manner. I absolutely loved how he said "Everything looks perfect, kiddo." And I don't even like being called Kiddo, but when he did it, it seemed perfect. I guess I just have a thing for talented South African physicians :)
