Light the Night 2012.. a month and a half late

Ok, so I really am the worst.  I said I was going to be better, and then I wasn't.  It's just the walk happened and I worked a lot because of the ASRM conference and then my parents were in town and I spent time with my nephew (yep and it was great.. pictures in another post, which I promise will happen before I turn 30) and then Dr. Levy went to England and I had a lot to do leading up to his departure and then while he was gone and then Thanksgiving happened and I hosted Thanksgiving (that's right people - this girl cooked a 21lb bird, again another post, another time)... you know, it's crazy trying to remember to write a blog post when I barely remember to take the trash out.  So I will recap the walk because it was wonderful :)

First of all, it was freezing.  I mean, it was friggin cold, but that did not stop Team Kyle from coming out and participating in one of my favorite awareness events.  I like to think Team Kyle had a good turn out.  We had an especially wonderful family showing this year at the walk and for that I am really thankful.  I love that we can come together for something that isn't a wedding, funeral, baby shower, bridal shower, etc.  The walk is something that doesn't require us to get gifts, spend money, wear uncomfortable shoes. It's just about being together to celebrate life.  And who doesn't love to celebrate life?

Nicole and Derek were there, Kyle was there (duh), both sets of Wilkinsons and Evan, Aunt Margie, Aunt Donna and Uncle Dennis... it was a full house, Aunt Patti and Uncle Jerry also came up from PA for the walk.  It was so good to have Aunt Patti and Uncle Jerry there for the first time this year.  I am telling you, round two looked pretty good for Team Kyle. Most importantly, Kyle looked really great and I was so happy to see him.

A rare photo of the Gordon clan :)

Brandon and I are so incredibly thankful for all of the people who opened up their wallets and their hearts to donate money to the walk.  The Luekemia and Lymphoma Society is a really wonderful organization and I am thrilled to be able to support them by fundraising and participating in the Light the Night walk every fall.  THANK YOU to everyone who participated, who donated money and who shared words of support and encouragement.  We really could not have done this without you!

Seriously, how adorable is my husby in orange :)
